Still,the dominating representation of 3D objects in
graphics is a 2D surface mesh embedded in 3D,defining
its boundary.Therefore,in our approach we employ
the shape-diameter function (SDF,Figure 1a),that provides
a link between the object’s volume and its boundary,
mapping volumetric information onto the surface
boundary mesh.
