2、应该是省略的非限制性定语从句 The old man walked in the street,（who was being ）followed by his son.从句中的主语与主句的主语一致,从句中的主语和谓语可以省略,who 做从句的主语表示 the old man.

关于第一题，我书本上有一句例句是Seeing his mother ，the boy ran to her.这句话中ran也是过去时啊为什么就可用seeing？而第二题中那如果我填being followed是不是也可以？

填followed 就可以，既然是省略的主语和 be动词就没必要加上啦
