Welcome to Mansfield Middle School.Our school of 620 students,60 faculty and 40 support staff is located on a quiet country road in Mansfield,just a couple of miles from the University of Connecticut’s main campus.
Mansfield Middle School opened in 1969 as one of the first schools in Connecticut to be designed as a “middle school.” The middle school years are a time of great changes for children and their families; we hope that our experience with this passage will help to make it a time of energetic learning and healthy growth.
Our school is organized to support pre-adolescent and early adolescent learners.Our students in Grades 5 through 8 work each year with teams of 3-8 teachers who offer a challenging academic program.Teaming allows teachers to collaborate with each other and with families to provide the best instruction possible for each student.
As a school we strive to provide a safe and comfortable place for each student to grow and learn.We want each child here to be a participating member of our school community.In addition to our academic program,we offer music ensembles,sports programs,an enrichment program,and an extensive after-school activities program.Everyone is welcome to participate.
