However,watching TV for a long time will still cause shortsightedness.Hence,I think that parents can control the time their children use to watch TV but ban them.

In that case, if the children become shortsighted, it is likely they inherit the genes from their parents. No matter how little time these children spend on watching TV, they still have greater risk in getting shortsighted. So let the children watch TV, there's nothing you can do.
