对楼上的分析有点小分歧::
so he would not feel left out of the activites
out of activities是补充状语,是对left这个词的一个详细情况解释.
我个人认为提问者之所以觉得这个句子不太懂,就是因为这个补充状语,去掉这个状语的话“so he would not feel left”很容易理解,“因此他就不会觉得被遗弃/摒隔”,加上状语之后整个句子就是“因此他就不会觉得被摒隔在这些活动之外”.
