这里有几个问题：
never had our phones.应该是take our phones with.用have并不太好
we left our homes and went out.后面这个went out有点多余
这个句子的时态是在描写一个一般性的动作,用一般现在时就可以了.

Had应该改成take，left our home和went out是一个意思。最后应该写left our home to play
