首先,as much an art 中的much不是表示数量,而是表示程度,所以不存在可数与不可数的问题；much前面的as是副词,修饰much,而后面的as是连词,用来连接后面的从句,组成比较状语从句；so /as + adj + a/an + 单数可数名词 + as从句,这种句式很多,例如：
1）、Adria is as much a cook as (he is) an artist.（指厨艺和画工差不多）
2）、He is not so much a genius as a hard worker.与其说他是天才,不如说他很努力.
2.He recited as much of the poem as he could remember.
这句话把句子稍加改动想必您会明白：
He recited as much of the poem as possible so that he could remember it.
