a great deal of 是修饰不可数名词的,表示“大量的,许多的……”
information是不可数名词,be动词要用is.
但楼主的句子中spread应该用主动语态,故我提供了两个改法.
much of them are stolen.
此处的are使用正确,因为主语是them,复数代词

不可数的都要用is

应该都用is,因为information和much都是不可数的！

information 通常是用作不可数名词 译为“信息”
作为 “询问处” 或 “某种信息里包含的不同信息类型”的意思讲时 可以作为可数名词使用,但是这个很少用到
