因为是因果关系，用状语从句也应该是原因状语从句， 即：
As(Because) he had studied all of the material,John passed the test easily
这里是陈述过去发生的一个客观事实，没有条件意味
如果选B, 除非说：
.If he 【had studied】 all of the material,John【 would have passed】 the test easily.
这是与过去事实相反的虚拟语气的动词形式
