Not only had the poor man been arrested,but he had been sent to prison as well.这句话中
Not only 在句首时句子部分倒装,可是如果句子是not only the poor man had not been arrested,这句话怎样倒装?是Not only had not the poor man been arrested还是Not only had the poor man not been arrested?
所有的倒装句中（比如还有虚拟语气句中的）not的位置是怎样的?

Not only had the poor man not been arrested
倒装句里面,主语总是在动词和"not"之间.
not是状语,而所有倒装句的顺序都是“动词、主语、状语”.
总之,一般来说,有疑惑的时候把not用其他状语代替,看看结果是否合理,就行了.

你看一下这句话，The cave might never have been discovered has not the entrance been spotted by the distinguished French pot-holer, （新概念3，42课），这里has not the entrance been spotted by the distinguished French pot-holer是虚拟语气的倒装，这个not的位置能移到been 的前面吗？

Not only had not the poor man been arreste倒装句中not不必提前，虚拟语气一般不会出现not的问题，应为它永远与事实相反

是的，这个时候就用neither ...nor 更好，无须总是用not only

不能加not吧，如果是双否定应该用neither...nor...，not only..., but also.../...as well用于肯定式，应该是这样的，我刚才在网上查了好多，没见有not only...,but also加not的
