Eleven years ago,Hu Zhong,a chemistry teacher from Chengdu City left his school and the comfortable city life and started his voluntary work in Kangding County,Gan Zi．It was an area where the Tibetans were living a hard life．He worked in a welfare(福利)school and gave 1essons to the orphans(孤儿)．There were 143 children in the schoo1．Hu Zhong got up at five every morning and called up the children to do morning exercises．As the headmaster of the school,Hu Zhong thought it his duty to take care of the orphans．Whenever he heard of an orphan in a village,he would go there to take the child to his schoo1．
In 2003,his wife Xie Xiaojun joined him to do voluntary work in the same school she taught maths,biology and worked as the librarian．In 2006,she went to work in another welfare school in Kangding County．She decided to stay there all her life to work for the orphans．
