选B.a lot是名词.意思是：许多东西
A的话,many是形容词,修饰可数名词负数,不能单独使用.只能说many things
C里的a lot of也是形容词,后面要加个名词.只能说：a lot of things
D不可以,不能单独使用,只能说：lots of things
