可以分拆成 The novels are impossible to translate into another language （这些小说很难被翻译成别的语言）.
be impossible to do 就是“不可能做某事”的意思.
be adj.+ to do 是十分常见的用法,这里有一点被动的意味,可是却用to来连接,可以说固定搭配吧.
