做定语
1）to do 表示将做什么的或用以做什么的.只能作后置定语;如the boy to come,food to eat
2）ing形式 表主动或正在进行.单个词置前,词组置后.
3）ed形式 表被动或完成.单个词置前,词组置后.
a、不及物动词的过去分词一般不能作前置定语,能作前置的仅限于 escaped,faded,fallen,risen,grown等.
b、过去分词与副词,名词,形容词构成复合形容词作定语时,位于被修饰的名词之前.例如:a newly—built road；a man—made satellite.
c、某些单个的过去分词作定语也必须作后置定语.例如:There is no time left .
d、某些动词的过去分词作定语时,既可作前置定语,又可作后置定语,但含义不同.如:
The method used is very efficient .
This is a used book .
The book given to him is an English novel .
We will be meeting at a given time and place.
