A couple had been married for over 60 years.They shared everything,talk everything and kept no secrets from each other except that the woman had a box in a drawer that she had cautioned her husband never to open or ask about.
He'd never thought about it ever since.One day,the woman got very sick and the doctor,said she wouldn't recover.Tosort out their affairs,the husband took down the box and brought it to his wife's bedside.She agreed it was time that he should know what was in the box.
Opening it,he found two small mats and a sum of money totaling $25,000.He asked her about the contents,''when we were to married,''she said,''my grangma told me the secret of happy marriage was never to argue,and I should just keep quiet and make a mat if I got angry with you.''
The man was so mored that he had to fight back tears.She had only been angry with him twice in all those years of living and loving!''Honey,''he said,''that explains the mats,but what about the money?''where did it cone from?''
''Oh,''she said,''that's themoney I made from selling them.
