APPLICATION FOR A VISA TO NORWAY REJECTION
The Embassy refers to your application for visa to Norway and regrets to inform you that application has been rejected.
According to section 106, sixth paragraph of the Immigration Regulations, an application for a visa may be rejected if it is considered necessary from an immigration policy viewpoint, or if there are reasons to doubt the stated purpose of the trip or the accuracy of the documentation provided. Also through the Schengen cooperation, in which Norway is a part, the Norwegian authorities are obliged to view the immigration aspect to the whole Schengen area. The Embassy has noted that you do not have any history/record of traveling outside China.
Where our experience with specific groups and nationalities indicates that many fail to leave Norway on the expiry of their visa, it has become our practice to issue a visa only when the condition of return is satisfied and/or there is a long established relationship between the applicant and the reference. A visa will not be granted unless the applicant can provide such information about the purpose of the visit and her ties to her homeland that makes it probable the she will leave Norway after the expiry of the visa. This condition is not satisfied.
Reference is made to the fact that you are a young, single woman with no children. You ate not going to visit any close family in Norway. You wish to visit your mother’s friend. According to the visa guidelines, only patents, children, a full sister or brother are considered to be close family. You have provided documentation of employment in China. However, the Embassy finds reason the doubt the presented employment letter. It is noted that the reference has made a financial guarantee for the visit. This is, however, not sufficient to substitute for other requirements.
You need to visit Norway has been taken into account when considering the above-mentioned arguments.
Exceptions to the current guidelines are made when there are indicated strong compassionate grounds. The Embassy does not consider there to be any such grounds in this application.
According to section 27 of the Public Administration Act you may appeal the said decision to the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration. This appeal must, within three weeks after receiving this letter, be submitted through this Embassy. In the appeal it must be stated why you wish to appeal the decision.
