Select one fish each of normal healthy cultured common carp, crucian carp and silver carp, with lengths of 20 to 30 cm and weigh 250 to 300 grams; dissect and clean them, set aside for later use. Prepare a standard curve by applying the Anthrone Colorimetric Method, with sugar content count on the abscissa and absorbance reading on the ordinate. Cut from each of the 3 fishes, 5 grams of meat without skin and bones, separately pound and mash the meat in a mortar, add water and stir, obtain the liquids after filtering. Then test and determine the average value of absorbance for the 3 fishes by using the Anthrone Colorimetric Method; and finally compare the standard curve to find out the corresponding sugar content count of each fish.
The result of the research indicates: the common carp has the highest sugar content count; followed by crucian carp and the silver carp has the lowest count.
