Documentation status and revisions
The wording “issue” must not be mixed with “revision”. An “issue” is defined as a release of a document containing a specified degree of information therein. A “revision” of a document is a release on essential changes, additions, or correction, whenever necessary, e.g. the same issue of a document may have several revisions. The following keywords and expressions will be used:
Issue demonstrates a defined content of a document, whereas:
Issue 1 represents a conceptual engineering status and provides the input to the basic engineering of systems, components and arrangement planning.
Issue 2 represents a basic engineering status and provides the input to detail engineering of systems, components and arrangement planning.
Issue 3 represents a detail engineering status and provides the input to manufacturing, erection and commissioning of systems and components.
Record represents the final status of documentation containing the feed-back from manufacturing, erection and commissioning of systems and components. The revision of a document is presented on form of a running numeric or alphabetic key demonstrating the number of revisions of a document based on changes, additions or corrections.
