It really depends.Most people,I would say,will choose a good payment,since work is widely considered only to be a way to make a living.To them,what really matters,is the life one has outside work life.With a higher payment,one will have a much not-boring personal life that he or she is dying to get back to afterwork.
However,those people who are doing what they love,are proved more determined and most likely to achieve success.Imagine Lu Xun had continued being a doctor instead of writer,he might have a easier life but it would be such a big loss in Chinese modern literature.
Nevertheless,no matter you choose a low-paid job you like,or a well-paid job you are not that excited about,remember to love what you do,and do what you love.Because only in this way,you will enjoy your life.
