The addition of rare earth elements can change the morphology,size and distribution of the nonmetal inclusion in the metal,and reduce the influence of inclusions on theproperties of the metal.Meanwhile,the addition of rare earth elements can improve the property of retarded oxidation and thermal abrasion resistance of the material,and it also can refine the crystallization structure and improve the
mechanical performance and the service life of materials [7].In Ref.[8],the form of carbides is changed from reticulation to fracted reticulation due to the addition of rare earth (RE) elements into high chromium cast iron.In Refs.[9-10],the authors believed that it is difficult to completely modify the structure,morphology and distribution of the eutectic carbide by the addition of rare earth alone.In recent years,
many studies on microstructural modification of cast iron with combination of RE and other elements have been carried out.For example,the combinations of RE [11],RE-Al [12],RE-B [13],RE-V-Ti [14],RE-Mg [15] and RE-Al-B [16] are tried and good results are achieved.
In order to improve the properties of high chromium cast iron,the effects of composite modification with RE,V,Ti and B on the microstructure and properties of high chromium cast iron are studied in this paper based on the work of other researchers [17-19].

添加稀土元素可以改变非金属杂质在金属中的形态、尺寸和分布,并降低杂质对金属性质的影响.与此同时,添加稀土元素可以改善材料的阻滞氧化性质和耐热磨损性,它还能使结晶结构精细化和提高材料的机械性能和使用寿命[7].在文献[8]中,碳化物的形式由于在高铬铸铁中添加了稀土元素而从网状变成了破裂的网状.在文献[9-10]中,作者认为很难单纯通过添加稀土元素来完全修改共晶碳化物的结构、形态和分布.近年来,对用结合稀土和其他元素来对铸铁进行显微结构的改性已做了很多研究.例如,试验了结合RE [11], RE-Al [12], RE-B [13], RE-V-Ti [14], RE-Mg [15] and RE-Al-B [16],并取得了良好的结果.
为了改善高铬铸铁的性质,用RE, V, Ti and B复合改性对高铬铸铁显微结构和性质的影响在本文中基于其他研究人员的工作[17-19]进行了研究.
