When I was in seventh grade,I worked as a volunteer at a hospital in my town .I soent about thirty to forty hours a week helping take care of sick people during the summer.Most of the time I spent there was with Mr Gillwspie.He never had any visitors,and nobody seemed to care about him.I spent many days there holding his hand and talking to him,helping him with everything .He became a close friend of mine,even though he sometimes responded me with only a squeeze of my hand.Mr Gillespie was in a coma.I was away for a week to go on vacation with my parents.When I came back,Mr Gillespie was gone.I was afraid to ask any of the nurses where he was ,because I was afraid that they might tell me he he had left the world.So I asked nothing about him and went on to be a volunteer there through my eight-grade year.Several years later,when I was in hight school,I was at the bus stop when I saw a man.When I remembeard who he was ,My eyes were full of tears.He was alive!
