A项是正确的.此题如按习惯的思维定势,易误选C项whom,这是受待选空格介词of的迷惑所致.但待选项的引导词一方面作介词of的宾语,另一方面在句中须作“would take the position”的主语,而whom只能充当宾语,因此应选A项.注意：who引导的从句是介词of的宾语.
