英语逻辑问题(i) Theroom isn’t heated at all times.(ii) Theroom is

1、第一句和第三句涉及到部分否定和全部否定的问题.这种情况属于语法问题,词典上只用词条附的例句说明,但没有讲解.


当 all 以及every系列词（everybody,everything,everywhere等）和both等综括性词出现在否定句中,not 否定的是该类综括词,表示“所有的不都是”、“两个不都是”之类的意思.这类情况称作部分否定.如：


The room isn’t heated at all times.房间并非一直都热.（即有时候热有时候不热）
All is not gold that glitters.闪光的未必都是金子.
Both of them didn’t come on time. 他们俩不都是按时到的.


如果想全部否定,需要用与 all、both、every 系列词对应的 any/none（以及anybody/nobody,anything/nothing,anywhere/nowhere）和either/neither表示.如：


The room isn’t heated at any times.房间一直都不热.
The room is heated at no times.房间从来都不热.
Either of them didn’t come on time.他们俩谁也没有按时到.
Neither of them came on time.他们俩没一个按时到.


2、第二句 The roomis unheated at all times 是用肯定句表示的否定意思,句中的综括词不受否定词unheated的影响,意思是“房间一直都不热”.即使用The room is unheated at any times（房间在任何时候都不热）,也只是修辞手法发生了变化,意思还是差不多的.


3、最后两句用的是存在句 there be,与前面句子的不同点是强调的主语不一样.前者强调的是 room 不热,times 是陪衬的时间；后者强调的是时间 times,room 变成了陪衬的具体情况.


There are times at which the room isn’t heated.房间有时候不热（直译：有一些时候房间不热）.
There aren’t any times at which the room is heated.房间任何时候都不热（直译：没有任何时候房间是热的）.

。。。翻译出来就很明显了。。。这活儿任何一个字典都可以做到。。。
