Dear Arlene,
This is George Scarola,your DC teacher.I'm writing to my students studying management or communications or engineering,especially my women students,to tell you about a friend of mine who is coming to USTC to give two lectures about her work with global corporations and NGOs in Beijing.My friend's name is Kitty Vorisek and she is a VP at DHR,an international headhunting (猎头）firm.She splits her time between Beijing and Chicago.She is very knowledgeable about international corporations and NGOs.A good person for you to meet!
Kitty will give two lectures at USTC,but I think you might find her second lecture on Global Skills in the International Marketplace the most useful.She will discuss the skills global corporations and NGOs are looking for in their top management positions.This will be on Monday afternoon,3:00 - 5:00 PM,at the Fifth Teaching Building,Room 5505.If you've ever considered working for a global corporation or NGO,I think this lecture could be useful to you.The lecture will be in English.You are welcome to bring friends,of course.
Unfortunately I will not be able to attend myself.I have to teach two EPC classes on Monday afternoon.If you can attend,I'd really appreciate hearing from you whether the lecture was interesting or useful to you.Also let me know if you'd like to have a chance to meet with Kitty in a small group before she leaves on Wednesday.
