Because Uranus is nearly three billion kilometers from the Sun and is enveloped by a thick methane cloud layer,almost no solar radiation reaches the planet.这句语法为什么是对的?不是说逗号不能连接两个单独句子吗?

这句话是对的
逗号不能连接两个单独句子,这也是对的.
但情况是,这里没有两个单独的句子,因为第一句话Uranus is nearly three billion kilometers from the Sun and is enveloped by a thick methane cloud layer前面有一个连词because,表示“因为”,所以这句话后面必须用逗号,然后再加上一个完整的句子.
另外,英文中如果有了because,就不能再用so

从sun后面的那个and开始的句子都是用来修饰uranus的，而逗号后面的句子是对前面定语的补充，所以在这里就出现了一个逗号连接了两个独立句子的情况……把and is改成that的效果是一样的……
