全面的介绍一下形容词最高级.

　形容词最高级形式主要用来表示三者以上的比较.这样用时主要有两个特征：其前有the,其后有显示三者范围的介词如in(在……地点范围内),among,of(在……群体之中)等.如：
He is the most diligent in our class.
He is the most creative of these students.
此外还应注意下列几点：
一、若是最高级形式之前失去the而代之以a,句子末尾去in 或among/of,则此最高级形式已失去本身的意义而变为只起强调作用“十分,极为”的手段.试比较下列两句.
It is the most instructive of these books.
It is a most instructive book(那是一本极有教育意义的书).
二、最高级意义不一定全靠最高级形式来表达,有时可通过借用比较级来实现,从而使最高级意义更为显现.
The man is more fit for the office than anyone else.(=The man is the fittest for the office of all the officials.)
The rain couldn’t come at a more timely season(这雨下得太及时了).
这样使用时应该有anyone/anything else之类的词,以表示把被比较体从比较体中排出去.若直接用最高级形式则一定要使被比较体列入比较体之中.上述第一例已充分说明这一点.
三、有的形容词原级的意义就已经体现出了最高级的意义,因而无需再用the most或-est,如：
excellent,perfect,entire,whole,final,possible等.
四、最高级是用来表示一事物与同类三个以上的事物相比.但是亦有最高级不是用来和别事物相比而是用来强调某一事物品质或特征的,这时就不用the.
The fruit is best to eat when it is fresh (这种水果新鲜时最好吃).
The enemy was strongest here in defnce（敌人在这里的防御力量最强）.
请比较下一句：The enemy here was the strongest in defence（这里的敌人在防御力量上最强）.
后一句是把这里的敌人同别的地方的敌人相比较.
五、最高级可以当名词用,这时要同物主代词连用.它表示事物达到或处于最高程度或状态.

Our players are now at their best(我们的运动员现在正处于最佳竞技状态).
He who often comforted me when I was at my worst（是他在我最倒霉时常常安慰我）.
The mother smiled her pleasantest when she learned that her son had been admitted into the Party(母亲听说儿子入了党笑得最开心).
六、但若最高级作名词用,不与物主代词连词用而是同介词连用,意义就又不同了.常用的几个短语有：
at least(起码,至少),at best（充其量,按最乐观的看法来估计）,at (the) most（最多,按最大值计）,at worst（按最坏的情况估计,从最坏处想）.
