Dear Sir (或Madam),
I am sorry for taking the liberty to disturb you.
I'm xxx, a grade-2013 student majoring in folklore in the School of Literature and Journalism,
Here is my case. I am an on-job graduate myself studying for taking part in the entrance exams for graduate schools. To be honest, I, as a student, should concentrate my energy on my study regardless of any reason or excuse. Moreover, the courses you teach are of great practicability. Were it not for extraordinary and exceptional circumstances, I have always been a good student fond of learning, willing to learn, respecting the teacher and self-disciplined. However, due to certain emergencies in my work, I cannot follow up the course timely. This is totally not my intention, I hope you will forgive me, and hope you will give me continued directions and advice in learning.
I hereby apologize for such inconvenience, and appeal for your understanding. Finally, I’d like to take this opportunity to wish you a happy Mid-Autumn Festival and wish you and all your family happiness and good health.
Yours faithfully,
xxx
