我现在觉得“that”似乎指代的是上文中的主语"The statistical property"，这句话似乎是这样翻译的：使用这个理论研究了随机选择的核子间差异的核苷酸位点数的统计特性，以及杂合行或者核子多样性的统计特性。
不知道这样的理解是否合理

  • randomly chosen nucleons

  • heterozygosity或nucleon diversity
