practice their hobbies as much as they want.=practice their hobbies as much as they would like to.那么,在want后为什么不能加to,而在would like后加to?

这个问题提的太有水平了.
1.注意观察,后面的to被省略掉的want 所在的句子,是从句,也就是出现在连词as引导的从句中.因此,want to 之后的to 可以省略.同样,出现在when,if ,what 等引导的从句中时,也可以省略.
2.在类似情形下,如果like 前没有would,like 之后的to 也可以省略.
3.would like to 中的to 不要省略.
