last day单指“最后一天”,last days表明“最后几天”.
表示事情发生时间前要用介词.on the last days是说那件事就发生在他在这的最后几天里,用on在"day"或者"date"的前面.后面用in表明具体一年内的一段时间.

”last night"已经是副词短语修饰动词所以不需要再加入介词

介词？是定冠词the吧。这里的last week 不是上个星期的意思，是一年里的最后一个星期，所以有the。前面一个也是，过去的几天，是特定的

在句子中 这些 last days 都是特定的 而不是泛指 泛指就用 last day 最后一天 特指就用 the last day 最后的这一天

例如这件事情在他行程的最後几发生，就用 on the last days .
如果句子不加上 "on the" 和 "in the" 就变为: "It happened last days he was here" , and "He arrived last week of the year". Then both sentences do not make any sense .
