Jcak,please forgive me for not responding earlier.I honestly didn't know what to say.To say the least,I was very flattered that you and your friends like my work.
I'm going to be very honest with you.My concern was that you and your friends "studied my work." I'm really concerned that you will copy my work.Even more so if I share with you my knowledge of how to do certain pieces.Now,don't get upset with me!A couple of years ago I did have my work copied by some people overseas and tried to sell it in the US.It was stopped fairly fast because people here do recognize my work.
Why don't you send me some photos of your gourd art as well as your friends' gourd art?I would love seeing it.
I don't mind sharing my knowledge.I do not like people copying my work or style.If they want to learn so they can expand their knowledge and use this knowledge in their ownstyle,that's great!
