4.5.1 Bottom type spring supports or equal are to have an installed height equal to the dimension as shown on Technical Date Sheet.In addition,with spring in "Locked" position,the followings shall be required:
a.Field adjustment of plus or minus one (1) inch shall be provided in medium travel or long travel variable spring supports.
b.Field adjustment of plus or minus one-half (1/2) inch shall be provided on short travel variable spring supports.
c.In order to facilitate field adjustment on the load,provision shall be made to reduce the frictional resistance.For example,a hexagon nut and teflon filled coat collar arrangement at the top of load column may be used to facilitate adjustment with a wrench.
4.5.2 Each constant spring support unit shall be shop calibrated to the specified load,and providing at least ±10% adjustment capability.
