where相当于that加上一个介词（具体什么介词要看语境）,比如eg1：that is the hotel where they are staying= that is the hotel that they are staying in(事实上用which比用that好 但是that也说得过去) eg2：同理....

定语从句中， 关系词的选择主要看：一先行词是表示人、物、地点、原因或方式的； 二看先行词在从句中担当的成分。如果先行词（定语从句所修饰的那个词或句子）是表示人的，且在从句中作主语，关系词就用who 或that ；如果先行词在从句中作宾语， 就用whom 或that (通常可以省略)。
