这应该是一整个句子,Found前应是逗号
a disturbing change 是宾语
in the animal life around the fort 是宾补,共同描述change
during the period between his first visit in 1825 and his final contact with the fort in 1832是时间状语

插入语，因为用逗号隔开了。定语的话会用从句表示，如：David Douglas who is a Scottish botanical explorer of the 1830s。因为是补充对主语的说明，也可以称为主补。

found就是该句谓语，主语是句首的David Douglas
In the animal life 不是宾补，是状语，意思是发现了动物生活中的一些令他困扰的变化
Around the fort 是地点状语，紧随其后的是时间状语。
