One evening Helen was preparing (加for) her examination in the basement of the house.Her parents have gone out shopping. Suddenly, she heard footsteps on the floor below(改成above). Known(改成Knowing) that she was the only person at home then, she was frightened. Obvious(改成Obviously), a thief had come in through the window that was left opened for fresh air. Picking up her courage, Helen took a toy gun from the cupboard and went to(删掉to) upstairs. On her way she shouted, "George, take the dog out." Also to frighten the thief, she turned on some lights.
