other指其他的,常规下是作为一个形容词来用的,也就是它后面要跟一个名词或代词,这个词用于没有范围的情况.如问路的时候,可能会回答：Sorry,I am new here,too.and you can ask other people.
the other 和other是一样的,不过区别就是这词要用有范围的情况下,如老师让学生分发一下东西：Tom ,please give out the papers to Mary,Joe and Judy,and (give out) the books to the other students (这里的the other就是指班上除了上述三个人之外的其他同学.)
others是个代词,它的功能就等同于other+名词或代词.
