因为这是个强调句型的运用,它的结构是,it is (not) .that.
is 后面是强调的部分.that 接的是真正的谓语.再看看原句更明白了,how much you read but what you read 是强调部分,counts 是谓语.这句话的翻译就是,也许在乎不是你读了多少而是你读了什么内容.
