As we all know, smoking is no good for a person's health and furthermore, there are plenty of statistics to prove that smoking is bad for one's health and not to mention how shocked you are if you cut open a smoker you see the tar residue in their lungs. Besides, the worst part of smoking is that it would bring harm to the people who don't smoke around the smokers.They unfortunately become the second-hand smoker and might be at risk to have lung problems just like those chain smokers.
Therefore, it's wise and reasonable that smoking is banned in public since no matter it is in the office, or in the restaurants, or in the movie theatre, if someone smokes, people around him would be inhaling the smoke and the polluted air, which is detrimental to their health, especially to those who are pregnant, and it's not fair to let those non-smoker to become the second-hand smoker.
All in all, smoking should be banned in the public places for the sake of all people's benefits.
