他负责建造这座大钟,
make of和make意思不一样啊,为什么语法书上说加the的话就要加of呢?如果加了意思不就变了吗?
-ing形式前面无冠词时可直接跟宾语：making theclock; -ing 前有冠词时则其后不能直接跟宾语，而必须用of;themaking of the clock.

make of :由.制成的
make:制造
可以用 making the clock ,而the making of the clock.making 强调是名词特性,of the clock 所有格的形式.

你好，making of the clock是句子的宾语。而making前加定冠词说明是特指某事物，在这里特指”建造”。介词of表示所属关系，指“这座钟的建造”而不是其他建筑的建造。be responsible for 指负责、承担。
