但是这里是说,水稻“被种植”,所以用被动.
关于状语从句,这句话变成单独的句子就是：
Rice is usually grown in the areas.(There is plenty of water) in these areas.
那么,把这两个句子放在一起变成复合句,尤其是从句,就变成：
.in the areas where (there is plenty of water.)

是定语从句，因为是修饰 areas。 areas 本身做 介词 in 的宾语，而整个 in areas where 。。。 做句子的状语。 上面说的“状语从句”，是错的。
