another和other 做形容词时的区别?

another 是另外一个,只是一个,后面加单数名词,如another girl
other是另外的,其他的,后面加复数名词,如other girls

你好，another 是另一个的意思，后面只能接单数，而other 是另一些的意思，another 在一定程度上相当于 the other ，当然 other 后面只能接复数。
举个例子：
another student （另一个学生）
other students （另一些学生）
我们不能说 another students 或者 other student
