这是非谓语动词的用法,第一句句子的主语是我们,we,我们去比较建筑物,这是主动的,所以用现在分词表示,用comparing
第二句句子的主语是the new ones,是房子,房子被比较,是被动的,所以用过去分词表示,用compared
