The object of the present paper is to analyse theoretically the operation of a thermostat with a contact thermo-regulator, wherethe heater current starts and stops suddenly in the form of rectangular pulses. A model similar in principle to that of Turner will be considered. The convection phenomena, which play an important role in many practical applications, will not be taken into account.
