A fair-weather friend is a person who will be your friend when things are going well in your life,but will not be around to help you when things aren't going well.
On a side note,in English when we are talking about sports we commonly say fair-weather fan to describe a person who is only a fan of a team when they are doing well,but will claim to not be a fan when they are losing.
