选B,楼主是正确的.空后面的从句已经是解释说明了,是同位语从句,不是原因状语.如果一定要用why,句子就应该是Nobody believed his reason why he is being absent from the class,which is he had to meet his uncle in the airport. 把why放进去解释不通,因为why后面要紧跟对renson的说明,语法也不对.
