Product data management (Product Data Management,PDM) is a key enabling technology which integrates and manages all the information ,process,organization and personnel related to product.With manufacturing and developing the mode of agile,many enterprises has put forward higher requirements on the PDM ,which must support the information integration and process integration between the enterprises ,which can helpe enterprises improve their agility to meet changing customer s' needs and achieve a win-win cooperation.In recent years,the enterprises are in order to improve the efficiency of product development,in the product development process in the use of advanced means of development.With the continuous development of computer technology,product data management system has been applied to the product development process,the development of the entire life cycle management in an all-round way.Mechanical and electronic integration industry to establish PDM system,is to accelerate enterprise informatization is an important method,is the solution to enterprise competition efficiency,but also enhance the enterprise product innovation and development capacity of the route one must take.
This paper analyzes the PDM concept,basic function,key technology,in the enterprise information in the status and its development trend.For small and medium-sized industry informationization construction present situation,the enterprise informatization are fully based on the needs analysis,based on PDM theory of information collection system,to solve the small and medium-sized enterprises in product data management aspects of all kinds of difficulties.
