It is not an exaggeration that spelling, or perhaps we should say mis-spelling, could mean the difference of life and death. Imagine if a doctor mis-spells the name of a medicine, a chemist mis-spells the names of chemical elements to be mixed together, or a war planner mis-spells the coordinates of the bombing site, it could result in patients being given the wrong medicine, chemicals becoming ineffective or poisonous, or a wrong target being bombed. Perhaps most of us are not in those critical positions in our daily lives; however, paying attention to spelling is also an indication that we pay attention to details and are being responsible for the roles that we play in our lives.
