a couple of +复数名词+ 复数谓语动词,就不分析了
the couple 这对夫妇 谓语动词 可以用单数,也可以用复数
这和family差不多,比如The family is very large.
The couple is very nice.这对夫妻关系很好.把夫妻看成整体.
同样指个体时,用复数谓语动词.
The family are having dinner.
The couple are having dinner.

a couple of 后面接复数，表示“一对/一些/……”
the couple 后面就是接表示单数的谓语了，如：The couple is going to go home（这对夫妻要回家了)。
