LZ的问题有点乱.我按我的理解答了哈.
I and Mary are Jeff's new friends.
这一个句子的句首应该是Mary and I .在英语中,人称的排列是“你他我”.但如果所叙述的事情是不好的事情的话就反过来.这个和中文中的你我他是不一样的.
——Where are their coats?
——It's on the desk.
问句中提问的coats是复数.故答语中的主语应该忠实原句.即改为They're on the desk.
