6.2 Responsibilities of the Purchaser
If the Purchaser's unit responsible for supplier quality should detect one or more deviations during
the optional verification of initial sample parts,or a deviation from the supplier is determined as OK
either:
a) there is a discrepancy in the measurement method or
b) deviating/defective parts have been delivered
In both cases,the Purchaser's stipulations shall apply until falsification.Deviating attributes must
also be marked in the initial sample report (Column 4; n.i.O.)
Deviating attributes out of column 3 and 4 have to be transferred into column 6 “n.i.O.”
These attributes shall be identified as deviations in the Initial Sample Inspection Report (Column 6,
Approval Yes / No).
All the affected roles of the Purchaser assess the deviation / deviations (column 6,released yes /
no) and give the Supplier their approval in the case of a positive assessment or else a rejection in
the event of a negative assessment with “accepted”,“accepted with conditions” or “rejected”.

The initial sample process is not completed until all attributes conform to the required nominal
values or have been approved and the overall decision is “accepted”.
The entries in Column 6 of the Initial Sample inspection Report have the following meaning:
Yes "X":- the value lies
outside the specification,but release is possible
No "X" - the value lies outside the specification,no approval possible
If one or more deviations are detected but not accepted,a restricted deviation permit is possible for
example as interim solution until the Supplier has adapted his tool
Such case will be documented by the Purchaser on the initial sample inspection cover sheet.
